Golfing at Lake Oconee

What do Fuzzy Zoeller, Hubert Green, Jack Nicklaus, Rees Jones, Tom Frazio, and Tom Weiskopf have in common? Professional golf. These pros are the designers of championship golf courses located in Cuscowilla at Lake Oconee and Reynolds Lake Oconee.

Lake Oconee has everything you need, whether looking for a top-ranked place to golf, freshwater water boating, fine dining, or beach bumming. Living here makes every day feel like a vacation.

Specializing in golf communities, Jennifer Vaughan Realtor with Ansley Real Estate Christie's International is sharing its knowledge on the best golf courses in Lake Oconee.

Cuscowilla at Lake Oconee

Bill Coor and Ben Crenshaw are the designers of this 1997 course. While swinging your clubs, don't miss the beautiful views of Lake Oconee as you meander through Georgia Pines and enjoy native grasses.

There is a golf learning center for those with less tee-off experience or who want to perfect their swing. Check out the Golf Shop for all your fairway needs.

National Golf Course

This Reynolds Lake Oconee course, designed in 2000 by Tom Fazio, underwent renovations in 2014. Three nine-hole layouts, The Cove, Ridge, and Bluff embrace the colored textures of sand, grass, trees, and water.

Some fairways have a 60-foot variance in elevation between the tee and the putting green. No two holes are alike, making the 27 holes a challenge.  In 2024, Reynolds is adding another 9 holes and dividing the National into two separate 18 hole courses.

The Preserve

The Preserve's par-72 course, opening in 1988, was designed by architect Bob Cupp and U.S. Open Champions Hubert Green and Fuzzy Zoeller. Play golf on rolling grounds with tee options that challenge all skill levels with swales, undulations, fall-away slopes, depressions, and false fronts.

Quick Sand, a unique six-hole course, benefits those with time constraints. Each hole is less than 130 yards; you can complete the course in about an hour.

Great Waters

This unique Jack Nicklaus design of 1992 and a renovation in 2019 provides some of the best golf scenery in the southeast. It consistently ranks among the top courses nationwide. All 18 holes offer breathtaking views of Lake Oconee.

The Landing

Opening in 1986 and renovated in 2013, The Landing is a par-72 premier golf course designed by Bob Cupp. Its Scottish-style layout challenges golfers of all levels. The first golf course in Lake Oconee set the bar high for luxurious living in gated golf communities.

The Oconee

Rees Jones is the designer of this par-72 course of 2002. It offers lake views with the opportunity to play over inlets of Lake Oconee or down tree-lined doglegs. The layout provides challenging par-3 holes, elevated tees, water hazards, and bunkers.

The Kingdom at Reynolds Lake Oconee

This 16-acre private course is a prime location for improvement and golfing tips. It is one of only two facilities in the country that integrates superior equipment technology and golf instruction. Facilities include a practice range, a putting studio, seven bays, and an outdoor short-game practice area.

Harbor Club on Lake Oconee

Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish are the designers of this 1991 course, the only public course in Greensboro. Enjoy 18 holes of rolling hills and lakeshore. Perfect your golf skills at the driving range, short-game facility, or putting green.
