The population of this quaint little town as of 2020 was 6307 people and it’s named after William Eaton who served in the First Barbary War against pirates from what we know today called Libya. Georgia Power completed the construction of the Wallace Dam on the Oconee River in 1979 and formed the lake. The lake runs through are Morgan, Greene and Putnam counties.
